The Uruguayan Clasico:Round 12 of the 2013 Apertura

Nacional and Penarol will play a new edition of the Uruguayan Clasico this Sunday at 14:00 (EST). In this occasion, it will be for the 12th round of the 2013 Apertura and the two teams will arrive with very different realities, The " Tricolor " is favorite and wants to fight for the points to lead the table, while El " Carbonero " are trying to put their nightmare season behind them.

Nacional this week prepared for the Clasico with tranquility and only had one doubt in mind, the replacement of Juan Manuel Diaz after being red-carded against Cerro Largo. But Arruabarrena had it very clear from the moment the match against Cerro Largo ended, Maximiliano Moreira would be the replacement.

With the return of Andres Scotti from international duty, presumably his experience in these type of matches would make him a starter, but Ismael Benegas trained all week in that position, so the decision is ultimately left to Arruabarrena, although it is almost certain that Scotti “El Capitan” of “Los Tricolores” will be the starter. The rest of the squad will be the same that played against Carro Largo.

This will be Ignacio Gonzalez first Clasico. Also “El Morro” Garcia and Lucas Cavallini have not been included in the list of 19 football players, which will concentrate for El Clasico. Both have lost ground in the consideration of the manager. Instead Alexander Medina and youth player, Juan Cruz Mascia have been included in the list.

As for Penarol, the biggest question of the week was the left wing. Maximiliano Gomez a youth player, which has received quite a few minutes of playing-time since the arrival of "Tito", but was not even included in the list. It seemed Emiliano Albin would get the position but now it is looking like Nicholas Raguso will be given the opportunity.

Without Carlos Nunez in the attack, Goncalves presented Mauro Fernandez and Jonathan Rodríguez as the duo during the week. This will be the first time for both players to face “Los Tricolors”.

Antonio Pacheco, a substitute against Fenix, this Sunday will return to the pitch. Novick and Píriz in the double five and Baltasar Silva will remain on the right wing.

Nacional predicted lineup: Jorge Bava, Pablo Alvarez, Guillermo de los Santos, Andrés Scotti, Maximiliano Moreira, Diego Arismendi, Maximiliano Calzada, Alvaro Fernandez, Ignacio Gonzalez, Ivan Alonso and Richard Porta.

Penarol predicted lineup: Juan Castillo, Baltasar Silva, Joe Bizera, Damian Macaluso, Nicolas Raguso, Marcel Novick, Sebastian Piriz, Luis Aguiar, Mauro Fernandez, Jonathan Rodriguez and Antonio Pacheco.
