Uruguay Primera Division: Round 11

Three matches on Saturday at 14:00(EST)

Cerro Largo vs. Nacional

In Nacional, “Morro” Garcia has been replaced by Medina. During the pre-season Nacional Manager, Arruabarrena told Medina he would not have the opportunity to play. Initially not calling him for the pre-season training sent out a clear message Medina would not even be considered by Arruabarrena to be on the bench. This also occurred with “El Loco” Abreu but the difference with Abreu is he decided it would be better to leave and he is currently playing in Argentina at Rosario Central. Medina stayed and was determined to prove himself.

Nacional brought back Santiago “El Morro” Garcia with the expectations for him to the goal-scorer he once was. However, it was evident when El Morro returned to Montevideo he was not in the best shape. Through training it was expected El Morro would return to his full playing ability but up until now he has not played well. Despite his poor performance he was given an opportunity unlike Medina. Finally Arruabarrena has given Medina the roster opportunity of El Morro.

Nacional has played twice in Melo and has not won. In the last fixture in Melo Adrian Romero was playing for Nacional but this Saturday he will be playing for Cerro Largo. Given the history and Nacional performance in the last two fixtures this will be a rough match.
